Stories
From Our Archives
Grace Ogedengbe - On Being Always On The Move
In this story, our Oluwakemi Agbato speaks with Grace Ogedengbe who is a flight attendant, model and ride-share driver about juggling life and work. Grace shares her experience dealing with riders who are not comfortable being driven by a woman and untrue stereotypes about women in the aviation industry.
‘When I started, people were always cancelling my rides when they found out it was a female driver. It was strange to me because all my passengers rate me highly. I probably have like 4.95 stars so I knew it wasn’t the skill or the customer experience. People responded that they weren’t comfortable riding with a woman. I was like please let me drive so I can get this money.’

Hot tip: Sis, when you are applying for an opportunity, check the organizer’s website and social media pages to see if they have an information session or if you can request a chat. If they do, make sure to attend. That’s a great way to make a good first impression (especially if it’s interactive) and learn more about the opportunity from the organizers themselves!
